“Artifact”

Original painting by Lisa Creech Bledsoe

5″x7″ Mixed-media painting on watercolor paper. Ships unframed.

In Artifact, soft, unexpected color gathers around a dark, intricate structure. The more closely it is viewed, the more familiar something underneath seems to become—not quite an object that can be named, but something organic, something that seems to have been waiting beneath the layers. The colors aren’t describing what is seen; they’re describing how it feels to look closely.
